This is amazing. Keep up the good work. I need this!

Btw, how hard is it to make a working model for orcs? I really like the new orc models

Hi, awesome work! I concur about the orc models, would love to see them ingame aswell. Also, does any of this model editing hurt performance?

Hello and thank you , No at the moment i haven't seen any FPS issues or other problems till now and i have my graphic settings all maxed out. Only i thing is that i haven't gone further in graphics from the .INI file, tho again i doubt that will cause more stress to VGA cards. If you face FPS issues now due to a low/medium vga card it will not change anything if going to use the mod, it might drop you a bit but nothing serious.

There are some other spells as well but as i see it it might need to record for better presentation.

So that's all for the moment, more soon.

HOOO BOY that banshee, looks like an alpha channel dictating transparency got fucked. Other than that seems solid

So made some more updates here, testing some few things on those bosses, like Sylvanas-Thrall-jaina, and i think its time to start packing. Here is today's new additions, legion / WoD ! Enjoy !!

So i'll have to make some changes, i.e. hippogryph lack textures and since legion listfile projects are slow on update ill stop updating. Im going straight to pack up creature files and re check them and im going to release for a beta test probably. So see you all soon.

Ta!

This looks really awesome and great work man.
I would love to help beta test this if you would like me to.

Hehe i actually got bored to add her the hair textures so it looks like got bugged and electrocuted :w00t::laugh:

the alpha channels not being corrected affects my autism greatly, I'd help you fix it but I'm so out of practice in that I'd be useless

hoping for a download in the future, would love it

As for legion files, don't go scrapping this project just yet

Heya! BIG KUDOS for the amazing work! It's really really really impressive! I used to have fun with model editing too, especially race and gender switching with great results, no glitches. Once I even tried to export some TBC 3D models into the vanilla client, but it didn't work well. Looks like the 2.0 client has a different/improved graphic engine compared to the vanilla one, so the vanilla client can't render latest expansions 3D models. But looks like you managed to make it work, may I ask you how?

Well again isnt so 100% working, there some bugs, specially in character model, and particles dont work. At least not in all models. Some models present particles some not. Im in coop with Koward and using his tools i was providing feedback about errors in blender or in game. Still tho needs work to be done from his side but at least he manage to create something for the modding community. It is a small step into start modding earlier versions of the game. Till now modders could mod from WotLK and beyond, since it is closer to the new updated version of WoW we know.

This project is so damn exciting! Thank you for sharing with me this info, I think I'll go back experimenting some model editing now :D

I wonder if the Kronos developers can implement server side edits and work with you to make this patch only functional on their servers. That would be a HUGE feather in the cap and give the server something unique that nobody else has.

Yeah, would be nice idea, tho they haven't said me anything till now. At the moment since i want to get benefit too by the event im working it slowly.:cool2:

HELLO AGAIN! Thanks to you and Koward I was able to backport Blood Elves models to vanilla client. I made a race swap patch to turn Night Elves into Blood Elves and it works great, textures and all. You can check some screenies below.

But I need to add last thing that is the helms fix, so I need to backport tons of .M2 models (the helm models). I was wondering if there's a way to make this quicker with jm2converter, like converting all files inside a folder. Anyways any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats mate, nice work there, i had same fun using tho a troll model replacing Night elf one :p (kinda weird tho but considering that trolls became druids too in late expansions i wanted to have fun and have something eye candy).

AS far as i know you only convert directly M2 files, you cant convert a whole folder, its file specific tool. So good luck when trying to convert those armor pieces. Also want to ask which model you used, TBC or a late one ? If you used a late one you might face the same bug we still have active and non fixed about the weapons unsheathing.

I used models from my 2.0 client for max compatibility, couse like you said there was some glitches with later expasions' models. This way I didn't even have to backport textures, all works just fine! :)

About the helms, I guess I'll have to convert them one by one. There are about 122 helms models in vanilla, so if I convert like 30 per day I should be done in less than a week! Now I'm using a batch file:

Code:
java -jar "X:\Program Files\World of Warcraft 1.12.1\model editing\jm2converter\jm2converter.jar" -in "X:\Program Files\World of Warcraft 1.12.1\model editing\jm2converter\input\UI_NightElf.m2" -out "X:\Program Files\World of Warcraft 1.12.1\model editing\jm2converter\output\converted.m2" -cl
pause

So I put the input file in the input folder and then I edit the input path. To be honest I'm no even sure if this is faster but that's all I could do

P.S. Sorry for going a bit too much off-topic, and I look forward for your amazing project!

I think you are working on a windows machine. Not sure this works for whole folders like it does in mac/linux to mark all files with a specific ending usind "*":

Code:
"X:\Program Files\World of Warcraft 1.12.1\model editing\jm2converter\input\*.m2" -out "X:\Program Files\World of Warcraft 1.12.1\model editing\jm2converter\output\*.m2" -cl
pause

or

Code:
"X:\Program Files\World of Warcraft 1.12.1\model editing\jm2converter\input\*.m2" -out "X:\Program Files\World of Warcraft 1.12.1\model editing\jm2converter\output\" -cl
pause

if you dont have to specify the exact name on output.

At least this kind of wildcard works for quite a few commands in mac/linux.
