Slow weapons have the downside of if you miss your first attack or two the entire raid has to wait that much longer before going in.
I fail to see why you would want berserking over axe skill if threat was your main concern. Berserking under perfect conditions is 30% attack speed with 5.55% uptime, compared to +5 axes 100% of the time. I guess the exception would be once you have TF in guild axes become moot, but until then wouldn't edge of chaos on an orc be the most threat?
You can get away with wearing a ton of dps gear here due to bosses being under tuned and over gearing the instance considerably. Its especially critical for horde due to no salv to squeeze in as much threat as possible.
