Hello Kronos community!

i had an idea to increase the amount of BG's up on Kronos. Currently there's only 1-2 warsongs running during the week and on weekends its only kind of BG running. My idea is to add a small herb reward to the quests "for great honor" and the alliance quest "concerted efforts". hopefully this leads people into playing more - and most importantly - different battlegrounds, in order to complete the quest and recieve the added reward for these quests.

was thinking about a small amount like 10 herbs in total, chance based. sometimes you get 10 dreamfoil and the next time 10 gromsblood or 10 plaguebloom. a small chance towards a black lotus would make this very attractive as well. you could also add arthas tear or sungrass to have bad rewards as well and people go mad about RNGesus ^^

well, let me know what you think of this. can this work? would more players play battlegrounds and could this lead to kronos AV on non-AV weekends?

I personally think this is a good idea in general and worth looking into it.
What cons and pros would it bring? How would it affect other parts of the world and such.

What cons and pros would it bring? How would it affect other parts of the world and such.

Pros:
  • Non herbalists and people without herbalist alts would be able to get herbs by other methods than auction house
  • Increased overall Battleground activity
Cons:
  • Herbalists will make less profit from the huge profits they're already making
  • People will attempt to abuse system in order to gain 1/3 mark(s) for selected battleground quickly (5m timeout before game closes if there is not enough players)

Don't forget to give larger awards if marks were gained by losing. Maybe double those herbs if you turn in 10-earnt-by-losing marks? It's AV weekend this week, after all, don't you all want a quick defeat instead of playing, no? It should be awarded, shouldn't it? So those who lose more and more during AV weekend should maybe get their herbs awards tripled!

Also, PvP BGs shouldn't be all about awards. Let's also make world buffs persistent through deaths and also make them auri instead of a blessing! That way more people will not 'raidlog' (or 'BGlog'?) and will play more BGs, yay!

You should also implement '.herb <item> <amount>' command which will add certain herbs into your inventory in case you cannot attend all those BGs! That way they could be at BGs and still collect herbs! And of course '.xp', why would you waste your time on levelling, anyway? Let's give us instant 'twinks' (or were they called 'gays', I forgot?) and instant-60!!!

One thing we all forgot about, though, is world PvP, of course... For those who like it, let's add something for them. For example, let's add Kel'Thuzad into the middle of the Warsong Gulch, and the one who kills him automatically earns three flags at once and the victory! You can kill him by collecting conjured Black Lotuses that grow at the bases and drop it nearby. And when he's busy collecting in, you can attack him. That way he won't one-shot you, so it'll be easy! And in case both team are in combat with him during his death, it's a draw and both teams instantly earn 50 random herbs and 1 Black Lotus instead of the marks!

Otherwise, simply ban PvE guys from BGs. Whoever has anything better than T1 inclusively in their inventory should be stripped of their armour and it should be mailed back to them (and only retrievable in the first mailbox (Goldshire, Dolanaar and the like). We need no PvE guys in battlegrounds. And we need no herb awards, either.
