My buddy wants to roll a horde caster or a rogue (unfortunately i'll be an ally), but he's hesitating for several reasons :
He'd like to be a rogue, a shadow priest, or an elemental shaman. Thing is, he knows he will have to be a healer with both of these casters in pve, and he wonders how he'll be able to farm as a caster.
Rogue :
pros :
-great for 1v1, best melee dps with fury warrior
-can avoid world pvp if he wants to, or engage whenever he wants to
-easy to farm with
-fun to play
-no mana, which is a big plus for a lot of people
cons :
-bad in group pvp
-lots of them on both factions
-as a horde player, he'll have to fight against paladins (urgh), hunters, but most especially humans and their perception racial, which makes him think he might as well play on alliance (which i would like to be honest, as he's my bud XD)
-windfury makes threat more difficult to deal with (plus horde has a disadvantage in pve)
Priest :
pros :
-Best class for 1v1 pvp (shadow), especially as undead
-great utility, best healer in the game, probably (as far as output goes)
-good against a lot of classes/specs
-can be useful in pve (debuff for warlocks when AQ40 arrives)
cons :
-shit dps in pve, oom
-maybe not that fun to play in the end
-if you don't go shadow, you won't have a good time farming for raids
Shaman :
-sick in pvp, especially elemental
-good pve healer
-great utility : totems
-you can be a melee, a caster... lots of things
-good against most classes
cons :
-oom super fast
-maybe not the class scaling the best with gear
-enhancement sounds a bit boring (shocks aaaand that's all?)
-can't really go dps in raids, only healer.
