Compiling New FAQ/Rules Page (2nd Revision)
I have bestowed on myself the quest of rewriting, where needed, the FAQ to include new/updated information seeing as how the last one has not been gone over since a while ago, so I will attempt to consolidate the rules/FAQ in a manner that is consistent to a newcomer's string of questions such as ones I had and ones I have seen.
Please help me and the rest of the community make this the most informative and streamlined wall of text ever! So ask questions and make suggestions to amend this! For now it will look very boring but once it is finished I will pretty it up for a sticky.
So basically, some rules are only here to let you know intentionally bugging is an offense and that if a bug is found you should tell the staff and never attempt to use the bug again.
What is Kronos?
Kronos is a Vanilla Realm that is under development on the TwinStar servers.
The TwinStar servers are hosted in the Czech Republic. Server specifications are found here.
You may test your latency by signing up for one of the other realms that TwinStar offers and logging in there.
What is featured on Kronos?
Kronos will have 1x (Blizz-like) drop/experience/gold rates. With an option to turn off experience gain for twinks (low-level PvP alts).
A progressive raid/pvp release system, a schedule of the raid/pvp releases are found here.
A donation system for vanity only items found here.
1.12.1 Client (ie."patch")
Dual-faction accounts.
What features are available on the Kronos website?
Kronos offers their own database, which is conveniently linked to the bug-tracker here.
When Kronos is launched more features will become available:
An armory for looking up characters found here. (Broken for Chrome and Opera).
A boss kill tracker where you can see guild progression and the amount of boss kills.
Example from the cataclysm realm Artemis here.
How complete is the development?
Kronos is very near completion! An overall ESTIMATE of completion is found here.
Is the bug-tracker a good measure of progress?
If you take your time and actively use the bug-tracker you will get a lot of information about issues arising and things getting fixed. However not all fixes and bugs will appear. Everything related to hacking, exploiting and such will never be showed to the public for the well being of the community. The same goes for internal reports by the team.
The bug-tracker can be found here.
What kind of quality can I expect in terms of working quests, items, abilities and etc?
The Kronos team is very devoted to making the realm up to par with Blizzard's, that is minimal bugs with the highest quality scripts. A more detailed look can be found here.
As well as videos of bug fixes in action here.
Where else can I get information or get in contact with the community of Kronos?
Facebook.
Twitter.
Reddit.
Youtube.
RSS Feed.
There is also an IRC channel! A guide to IRC and connecting to the channel is found here.
How do I connect to Kronos?
A short and simple guide can be found here.
It has a 1.12.1 WoW client in one torrent or a three-part download for your convenience!
Will there be character transfers from other servers?
There will be no transfers at all.
Will I be able to send items/mail to characters of the opposite faction?
No, to cross-faction trade you must use a neutral auction house such as one in Winterspring, Gagetzen, or Booty Bay.
(A) Server/Realm Rules
A.1. By playing on the TwinStar server the player agrees to these rules and agrees to adhere to them.
A.2. The administrator reserves himself the right to change these server rules at any time.
A.3. The player is obliged to observe changes to the rules announced via the twinstar.cz web portal and abide by them, even if they are not yet listed here.
A.4. The administrator is the highest instance, his decision is final and there is no countermanding his decision.
A.5. GameMaster acts upon a direct order from the Main GameMaster
A.5.1. In the absence of the Main GameMaster a GameMaster can act on his behalf, provided he has a permission to do so. It is possible to appeal against the GameMaster's decision to the Main GameMaster, exclusively via a private way (IRC, PM, E-mail).
A.5.2. GameMaster's are NOT required to provide any records to explain why a punishment is imposed.
A.6. The player is obliged to report any bug in the game. Failing to report or abusing the bug will be punished according to a decision of a competent person.
A.7. The player is obliged to report actions of another player, if they are in conflict with the server rules. The report may be directed to any person who is a part of the server team. Failing to report is considered a gross violation of the server rules.
A.8. Any form of mocking, insulting or otherwise doing anything in contrast to a decision of any member of the server team is strictly prohibited.
A.9. Administrator reserves himself the right to banish player from the server and services connected to the server, WITHOUT stating a reason.
A.10. It is forbidden to advertise other servers with the same or similar aim. It is also forbidden to present links or information about places which contain direct information about servers with the same or similar aim.
A.11. It is forbidden to advertise any form of wares, including materials linking to wares.
A.12. It is forbidden to use excessive profane language. Using abusive language in-game is punished with a mute but the player can be banned as well. The length and the extent of the ban can be gradually increased up to the ultimate penalty (IP ban) should we have to cope with a case of extremely inappropriate behavior. It depends on the GM how he will assess the situation and then punish the player(s) involved.
A.13. It is forbidden to spam public communication channels, write meaningless or inconsequential messages or incite players to violate the server rules.
A.14. It is forbidden to name in-game characters or pets with a profane, insulting, or mocking expressions. At the same time, it is forbidden to choose names which are the same or similar to the names or nicknames of anyone in the server team.
A.15. Any form of pretending to be a TwinStar team member (whether it is a player himself pretending to be a TS team member or a player pretending that somebody else is a TS team member) is forbidden.
A.16. Multi-boxing is banned altogether.
A.17. Using anonymous connection and DynIP
A.17.1. It is strictly forbidden to use any means of changing or hiding real information about a connected client.
A.17.2. It is strictly forbidden to connect onto the game server, forum or IRC via anonymous proxy servers (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3), ELITE proxy, web anonymizers, anonymous VPN servers or other services, including software using these means.
A.17.3. The only exception is using BNC (PsyBNC) for connecting to the IRC channels of the server.
A.17.4. Using the aforementioned will result in locating real accounts of the person involved on the server/forum/IRC and their immediate suspension.
A.17.5. Abuse of the variability of dynamic IP adresses for spamming or violation of laws will result in sending LOGs of actions to an ISP(=connection provider) to which the DynIP is registered and immediate cessation of these actions will be demanded. In extreme cases the situation may result in filing an official complaint against the person involved.
A.17.6. In case of using an anonymous connection, it is possible to grant an exception.
A.17.7. The appeal for an exception must be sent exclusively via e-mail and must contain name of the account (or a registered nick on IRC).
A.17.8. Service involved (game, forum, IRC).
A.17.9. Type of the connection (Ann proxy, Elite, VPN, ... etc.)
A.17.10. A reason for using an anonymous connection (e.g. A port is blocked on the dormitories, therefore I use a tunnel to an anonymous VPN server via which I play).
A.17.11. Upon approval, the user is authorized to use an anonymous connection. Requests may be sent only to a server Administrator.
A.18. In case a team is proven guilty of Honor-Trading, you will at the very least have your honor wiped. Further punishment such as deletion of PvP related items, reputation or even the entire character will depend on the severity of the specific case.
A.19. It is forbidden to have more than the maximum amount of players an instance at one time, online or offline. (10 players for 10-man dungeons, 40 players for 40-man raids, etc).
A.20. It is forbidden to loot a boss, when your character wasn't in instance during the boss fight.
A.21. It is forbidden to use a Steam Tonk item against players for the purpose of killing them.
A.22. It is forbidden to use any kind of character for the purpose of running a casino.
A.23. It is forbidden to purposefully place shaman totems into the texture in battlegrounds, where they can't be hit with spells. In case the totem can't be destroyed with a spell even though an attacker is casting from a regular position, you will be punished according to the rules. In addition, players who purposefully waste time in stealth in battlegrounds will be punished with a kick from the battleground.
A.24. Abuse of the "fly" bug.
A.25. Using quest items for purposes other than intended. It is forbidden to use quest items and/or any other things provided for completing a quest to perform an activity that is not directly related to the quest itself (using it for completing other quests, attacking the other faction etc.).
A.26. Pulling or killing bosses outside their dedicated area. Every boss has its own allotted area, where it uses its abilities and its encounter takes place. If you pull it out of this area, it negatively affects the entire process of the encounter (the boss will not cast some spells, summon mobs, proceed to another phase etc.) making it easier than it should be. The punishment is then imposed on the ENTIRE RAID/PARTY – there is no difference between a player who has actively taken part in killing the boss or NPCs related to the boss’s event outside its/their allotted area and a player who has not done so. This rule does not apply to the Vault of Archavon raid if the group pulls the boss out of his allotted area only in order to get the achievement.
A.27. Bugging Mind Control on bosses or high level humanoids.
A.28. Bugging instance ID. Every instance has its own respawn time. It is the period that has to pass before the bosses and NPCs in the instance respawn again. If the respawn time is bugged and the boss can be killed multiple times within this period, it is an error. If it is found out that a player (players), party, raid or a guild has been to one instance more than once within its respawn time (within one ID), he/it will be punished. Of course, you will not break any rules if you decide to progress a raid or a dungeon and kill two bosses on the first day and the other three on the second day. However, if the two bosses you have killed respawn the following day, you shall not kill them and proceed to the other three. The punishment is then imposed on the ENTIRE RAID/PARTY – there is no difference between a player who was in the instance the previous day and a player who was not.
A.29. Bugging boss fight phases. Some bosses have different phases, which they enter or leave according to certain factors (some spell is cast or some class is in the raid, the number of the players’ HPs etc.). In some situations, these transitions can be bugged, thus preventing the boss from entering another phase and making the entire encounter easier than it should be. The punishment is then imposed on the ENTIRE RAID/PARTY – there is no difference between a player who has actively taken part in killing the boss or NPCs related to the boss’s event without it/them going through all the phases properly and a player who has not done so.
A.30. Bugging instance events. In some instances, players are required to complete some kind of global task to proceed further. The objective is usually killing a boss or all the bosses. The thing is that it is often enough to aggro the boss and then die – the server regards this behaviour as completing the task, which is a bug. Players are obliged to do everything they are required to do, and if they are supposed to kill the boss, they shall do so. For instance, in the Icecrown Citadel instance, players have to first kill the boss Lord Marrowgar and then they can walk through the open doors and proceed to another boss. The punishment is then imposed on the ENTIRE RAID/PARTY – there is no difference between a player who has actively taken part in killing the boss without the preceding event completed and a player who has not done so.
A.31. Bugging PvP status. It can sometimes happen that a player’s PvP status is not turned on upon entering a BG or a hostile territory. With the PvP status disabled, players shall not assault bases, carry the flag or otherwise influence the course of a battleground.
A.32. Bugging BG start. After a battleground begins, there is one minute left before the gate to the main base opens and the battle itself is started. However, in some cases this gate is missing, and therefore there is no obstacle preventing the players from beginning the battle immediately. Players shall remain in their faction’s home base until the BG is officially started.
A.33. Abusing the ticket system. Players can use the ticket system if they want to request technical support about an issue, bug etc. that requires a GM to intervene. Players abusing this system by, for instance, sending irrelevant messages like “When a new patch will be on Twinstar”, “When are you planning to open Hyjal/BT/whatever”, “Can you rename my account, “Where is this and that” and so on will be banned.
A.34. Using Sap on NPCs in raid instances.
A.35. Bugging Taunt.
A.36. Capturing BG flags or looting chests in "bubble". It is forbidden to loot any chest that is otherwise unlootable while under the effect of a paladin’s Divine Shield. It is forbidden to assault bases (e.g. in Arathi Basin) or carry the flag (e.g. in Warsong Gulch) using any irregular ways of doing so.
A.37. Bypassing locked instance entrance using a bug. Should you encounter any closed doors, you are forbidden to shorten your path or try to get through such doors by using a mage Blink, a port by a warlock or any other inappropriate way. Should you encounter any bugged closed doors (meaning they should have opened but they did not), you are forbidden to use any of the above stated actions to get round the bug.
A.38. Resurrecting players with non-combat spells during a boss fight in a raid instance.
A.39. It is forbidden to break event rules or intentionally ruin events. We make the events for you, players, but sometimes we have to cope with a player who is not interested in them and starts spoiling the fun for others. Therefore, any deliberate efforts to ruin our work and any violation of the event rules will be punished with a ban.
A.40. It is forbidden to use macros/scripts/addons or any other instruments for the purpose of colouring and/or otherwise modifying texts on any communication channel including “/say”, “/whisp”, “/yell” etc. It is also forbidden to modify real items’ texts for the purpose of colouring these texts
A.41. Abusing owner/moderator rights in a communication channel. It is forbidden to kick or ban somebody from the world channel without a reason and/or otherwise abuse the rights assigned. Use the MUTE function should you have to cope with a spammer.
A.42. The Blacklist’s only purpose is to serve as a place for reporting violations of the rules. It is forbidden to use the Blacklist as an instrument for resolving personal disputes and create irrelevant reports, which delay GMs from dealing with real issues.
A.43. In the Blacklist, players shall not post screenshots which have been taken on other servers or graphically or otherwise modified for the purpose of falsely accusing another player of violating the rules. It is also forbidden to send such screenshots to any TS team member.
A.44. Using automated software handling unmanned playing (Botting) on the server. It is forbidden to use any third-side applications and/or programs which can perform actions such as fishing, levelling up a character, mining, collecting herbs etc. without having to be controlled by a player.
A.45. Using means modifying a function of the client or its communication with the server. It is forbidden to use any third-side applications and/or programs (speedhack, flyhack, teleporthack, minimaphack and all the other similar utilities) gaining a player unfair advantages over other players. It is considered a gross violation of the rules and is punished with a permanent ban imposed on the culprit’s account without any previous warning.
A.46. Trading or selling characters or accounts via public channels. It is strictly forbidden to trade characters, accounts, Stars, gold or whatever else from WoW for real money.
A.47. It is forbidden to abuse any Pathfinding or Line of Sight bugs in order to kill a player, boss or whatever else. For example, a player shall not kill an NPC in a way that would prevent it from getting to the attacker and reacting properly. This rule applies to all in-game areas (world, BGs etc.). Players shall report every bug they find into the bugreport and never abuse this bug again.
A.48. Abuse of errors or bugs not listed here is punishable at the discretion of a GameMaster or Administrator of the server.
A.49. Extent of any punishment is in FULL discrection of the GameMaster or Admin. It depends on the GM how he will assess the gravity of the violation and what form, length and extent of the punishment he will decide to impose. It is also solely up to him whether he will take into consideration some secondary circumstances when deciding about the punishment. (For instance, should a player receive his first punishment, the GM can ban him for 3 days instead of imposing the standard one-week punishment. On the other hand, if there is a player repeatedly breaking the rules and behaving rudely on the forum, the standard one-week ban can be prolonged for another 7 days.)
A.50. Aside from a ban, it is also possible to impose a material punishment. If a player behaves inappropriately, there are more ways of punishing him. Besides banning him temporarily, we can also affect his character’s stats, abilities, level, achievements, remove his gear etc. For example, if a player is proven guilty of bugging honor/arena points, he will not only be banned for some time, but we will also delete some (or all) pieces of his PvP gear and reduce (or eradicate) the number of his honor points. We can similarly cope with a case of bugging some reputation: depending on the GM’s decision, the player proven guilty of committing this violation will lose a certain number of reputation points without any claim for resetting the quests he has already completed. More "creative" situations can be applied.
A.51. Everyone is obliged to follow all the laws of the Czech Republic that are effective at the current time. Violating laws of the Czech Republic will result in immediate banishment of the offender from the server and all the services connected to the server. The violation will then be formally handed over to the official authorities.
A.52. There is no excuse to not knowing the rules.
B.1. Ticket system
B.2. IRC
B.3. Forum
Problems solvable by a GameMaster directly in-game belong into the ticket system. Other problems belong to the forum or a competent person (GameMaster) via IRC channel #twinstar-help, IRC query or PM on the forum (Do not forget to fill the message subject! Incoming messages without subject will be deleted unread!). Use e-mail correspondence only exceptionally or in special occasions. For clarification, a list of most frequent problems follows. In case the player is faced with a problem not listed below, he is advised to use common sense and think twice if his problem belongs to the ticket system or somewhere else.
B.1. Ticket system:
Ticket treatment:
For the sake of improvement and acceleration of the solution, you can contact GM directly on the #twinstar-help irc channel. In return, we ask you not to write your problems to team members' non-GM accounts. They have the same right to play as any other player, therefore please do not demand their immediate help.
Every ticket MUST contain TIME when the player is available in-game, or a name of another character where the player will be available at the given time. Tickets WITHOUT EXPLICITLY STATED TIME will be DELETED without warning!!
Things that belong into the ticket system:
B.1.1. Bugged instance ID.
B.1.2. Inability to complete a quest after a server crash.
B.1.3. Bugged character statistics.
B.1.4. Disappearance of an already learned spell.
B.1.5. Bugged profession skills.
B.1.6. Character stuck in a texture.
B.1.7. Impossibility to mount/unmount or bugged form change.
Things that DO NOT belong into the ticket system:
B.1.8. Bugged or broken quest (belongs to a proper section of the forum).
B.1.9. Bugged or broken spell, ability, or item (belongs to a proper section of the forum).
B.1.10. Missing, broken or bugged NPC/GO/loot (belongs to a proper section of the forum).
B.1.11. Rename or transfer of a character (we don't do it).
B.1.12. Request for an e-mail change (not possible at the moment).
B.1.13. Request for a return of missing item/gold/honor/AP (we don't do it at the moment).
B.1.14. Profane language, spam, gibberish (punished with an in-game BAN).
B.2. IRC Problem Reporting:
Things that belong to the IRC:
B.2.1. Your problem, which you are advised to present in the ticket as well (if it belongs there). If the problem is solved, delete the ticket.
B.2.2. Urgent problem which needs to be solved in a shortest time possible.
Help via the IRC is NOT guaranteed!
Things that belong to the forum:
B.2.3. All bug reports or problems which - due to their nature - are not possible to solve ingame.
B.2.4. Global problems (i.e. problems that concern not only you, but more or all players).
B.2.5. When reporting, you are obliged to adhere to the stated form of the report.
Note: In case a nature of the bug is such that it could be abused by another player for a benefit of his own or his character because of a report on the forum, do not report the bug on the forum. Instead, direct the report privately (PM on the forum, IRC, ...) to any member of the server team.
(C) Linked punishments
In case of a violation of the rules of one of the services (game, forum, IRC), it may be decided to impose punishment on another service. Meaning, if the player is punished with a BAN on the forum, he may be punished with a BAN ingame. Ban on the IRC channel can likewise be linked with a BAN ingame. Punishments can be linked between any of the services, including a global blocking of all services of the twinstar.cz server.
D.2. The attempt to sell DONATE stars in any other way (PM, chat in the game, advertisements, etc.) will lead to - deleting all characters on seller's account, resetting the number of stars on the seller's account and, if possible, the permanent IP ban.
E.2. If a player repeatedly violates the server rules and the number of his bans reaches five, his account might be permanently banned without any previous warning!
Obviously a huge amount of the rules will find little to none application as these violations are under normal circumstances not possible. However should they ever be possible, for whatever duration, due to whatever reasons, these rules do apply and anybody caught will be punished accordingly.
Please also understand that those rules were made for all Twinstar servers and were updated from the past versions, so even if nowadays you cannot abuse some of the described bugs, the bug may still be possible elsewhere.
So basically, some rules are only here to let you know intentionally bugging is an offense and that if a bug is found you should tell the staff and never attempt to use the bug again.

(B) Appeal for a GM assistance and problem reporting
(D) Donation and Stars Policy
D.1. Purchase of stars is allowed only via the official DONATE system.D.2. The attempt to sell DONATE stars in any other way (PM, chat in the game, advertisements, etc.) will lead to - deleting all characters on seller's account, resetting the number of stars on the seller's account and, if possible, the permanent IP ban.
(E) Notes
E.1. Punishments are effective immediately.
E.2. If a player repeatedly violates the server rules and the number of his bans reaches five, his account might be permanently banned without any previous warning!
