Dagger specs for all situations

Hey guys!
Today I finally optained my dagger from Ragnaros.
https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=18816

Now I have the problem of finding a new spec for pve and pvp. Up to now I have only played combat swords and hemo.
Could you guys help me out in finding different speccs for pvp and pve?
I was thinking about combat daggers or seal of fate specc for pve.
Regarding pvp i have know idea how to spec for daggers. Any ideas for cooky cuter specs?

Please link your suggestions in form of our new talent calculator.

Is the cookie cutter combat daggers build, if I remember rightly. You could take the 2 points from dodge and put them in Sinister Strike for phase 1 of Razorgore as well, it makes those finicky fights where getting behind a target isn't always a 100% guarantee.

It's also possible that the 3 points in Imp Slice and Dice could be 2 instead of 3, with 5 points in Lethality. IT's been a loooong time since I played Combat Daggers. Seal Fate isn't really 'viable' at this gear level. +5 Weapon Damage on MH which should be Perditions Blade, +15 Agi on offhand which should be CHT > Dragonfang Blade. Instant poison on both.

Don't bother stealthing to the boss. Run in and backstab x2, S&D, then get into 5x Backstab 5 CP S&D rotation. No eviscerate/rupture/etc, just 5 CP S&D.

I don't PvP, so no ideas for you there.

Seal Fate http://armory.twinstar.cz/talent-ca...105041050320305200001000000005000000000000000 (not really much point going this route with the current level of gear available mind you)

You can change up where you put points with things like dodge v gouge or if you want imp kick, etc.

One backstab is the opener, why would you sit around waiting for ticks when you could have already sliced? A 5 combo point slice is largely irrelevant with daggers, you backstab until slice is about to fall off then refresh it. With Darkmanlte procs its possible to get 5 combo points before slice runs out but the rotation is literally backstab > slice > backstab until slice is falling off > refresh slice > repeat

Thanks for the input guys! Will test the combat spec on the next raid!

I hope someone can point out some pvp specs as well :D

pvp specs are pretty basic you can always move around some points on what you prefer.
murder <> ruthlessness <> SS <> lightning reflexes <> MoD <> camouflage (although i'd recommend always taking camouflage) <> dirty deeds <> heightened senses <> ghostly strike and expose armor (which comes in handy in WSG on prot warriors if no warrior is using sunder... x1 sunder overwrites even a 5CP expose)

seal fate: http://armory.twinstar.cz/talent-ca...105021351320300000000000000005023002000000000

prep: http://armory.twinstar.cz/talent-ca...105041000320300000000000000005025303030010000

prep + dd (if you like to start with cheap shot): http://armory.twinstar.cz/talent-ca...105041000320200000000000000005024303030012000

In my eyes ruthlessness is never worth it because as daggers your target it supposed to die after 1 full blow out.
You could consider it if you're going for the prep + dd instead of murder because with this type of spec you're going for more some kind of control.

as for combat, i don't really understand why you wouldn't take aggression?

Especially with darkmantle, there will be moments that you can 5 CP snd, 5CP evis, 5 CP snd.
I've had quite a lot of those actually and it seems weird not using evis when SnD is still on 10-15 seconds so you can get a new one rolling anyway.

Could anyone elaborate?

Could be worth it, I'm not entirely sure. Eviscerate tends to be around 1-2% of my overall damage over a full raid with Darkmantle procs. I like sprinting. :(

Rock, as daggers i always go for the ultra burst which is most of the time not the optimal way but a lot of fun to 2-3 shots clothies.. ambush - bs - tea - bs - (bs) - cb evis ..
Keep energy ticks in mind you might have to wait 1 second to be able to evis if you start your ambush right before your energy tick.
This is why i like taking atleast dirty deeds, since you can start of with a 40 energy CS.
There's no clear rotation in PvP as everything depends on your opponent.
Versus someone who does absolutely nothing i guess you can cs - bs - tea (yes i spam tea..) or you can wait 1 tick and you should have 40 energy to ks and then tea - bs and bs some more - blind/gouge if you can restealth and start over. This again is trying to burst someone down, you can use cb evis somewhere in there but don't do it if you're going for a more controlled play .. of course..
You'll have to take gouge, blind, restealthing into account against more skilled/armored opponents, but when going against warriors (f.e.) gouge is completely useless, atleast against those with a brain.
You're better off trying to deadzone them with crippling but again, a warrior with a brain won't let that happen.

As WSG is the game on this server, just go for the healers, doing just that will win you most games.

To me it comes down to this: daggers is a more bursty type of play and you're looking to kill your opposition fast.
That doesn't mean daggers doesn't allow for a more controlled style of play, but hemo is better for this.

Thanks for this detailed insight! I will definitely have to adapt my playstyle (and finally skill up cooking) with my dagger ;) with hemo i went like full control all the time. I feel like hemo is way more forgiving regarding mistakes, but i like the new challenge.

It might be that having to refresh a 1-2 CP snd multiple times during longer encounters is worse energy management than just keeping the 5cp snd up..

If you can reliably always get 5 cp before your opening slice runs out you are a wizard. Obviously you can 5 point slice if the timer is in favour of that. The vast majority of your damage is white hits and backstab. I would never eviscerate if it means slice falls off.

Also I guess I don't really face '"longer" encounters.

with combat daggers there is a way to go from a 1 cb snd to a 5 cb before the 1cb snd wears off u have to start the encounter 1 bs into snd blow ar then bf bs if u have 20 enery wait for the ar tick if u have less then 20 tea then bs till u have 5 cb then SnD if done right u will have 5cb with 2 to 3 secs left of Snd

This is the specc i play when pvping..

My gear is 8/8 t2 with perds blade + cht

Imo Cold blood is just a waste, its just a 1 timer to 100% critt. Loose it and put points In combat instead to get a free exit with sprint from frost nova, hammerstring etc. Also 2 points in dirty deeds cuz it makes u use CS backstab ks Backstab or sinister/auto hit if u wanna gouge and continue CC'ing. Or ofc put backstabb after kidney and use tea to do brutal dmg. I'm out peace and GL!
