Dear Players,

We’ve been working tirelessly since the conclusion of the last Naxxramas PTR session, and we are delighted to announce that we’re almost ready for the next phase of testing. On Sunday, August 13th, sometime between 17:00 and 19:00 Server Time, the PTR will be updated, and the Naxxramas Plague Wing will be enabled. The Plague Wing features Noth the Plaguebringer, Heigan the Unclean, and Loatheb.

All of the same rules and policies from previous tests will apply.

The aggro range will be reduced to 10 yards. While it may be possible to skip these mobs, we encourage you to test their mechanics.
Players and their pets will deal 50% more damage, including every spell and attack
Creatures in Naxxramas will deal only 50% of their intended melee damage
Other similar changes such as increased player healing may be present
No other wings will be available for testing
There will be a raid reset on the PTR on Wednesday at 6:00 AM server time. This allows guilds two separate test periods.
Time spent on the PTR should be focused on testing mob mechanics for bugs and issues, not player mechanics and positioning. We do not intend for the PTR to be used as a platform for mastering the fights.
GMs and other Twinstar staff will strive to be present during most testing sessions to observe bugs and fix issues on the fly (when possible).
Repeatedly wiping the raid or using other means to increase your number of attempts on a fight is strictly prohibited. Guilds will be allowed to attempt each boss a maximum of 3 times, per raid reset. A maximum of 6 attempts, across two raid IDs, for the week of PTR testing. Regardless of GM presence, PTR logs will be reviewed to ensure that these rules are adhered to. Violation of this rule may result in exclusion from all further and future PTR testing.
Also similar to the previous test, we would like to ask each guild to consider sharing their PTR schedule, streaming links, and/or voice comms info with us ahead of time. While this is not required, it was incredibly helpful for us during the last test. Working closely with the community allowed us to rapidly fix all of the issues that were reported. With your consent, we would also like to offer to publish your streaming links through our various communication channels.

Last, we would like to take a moment to congratulate two of our Senior Game Masters, Cadingel and Nellag, who have been promoted into Developer roles. They have both been instrumental in assisting with Naxxramas and regular server development efforts.

Thank you in advance for your diligent research, your time spent testing, and of course for creating detail reports on the issue tracker.

In addition to the Plague Wing testing coming up, we have made a number of other code and database changes which we have published in the changelog. As mentioned in previous posts, our goal is to continue publishing these changelogs every two weeks as a means to increase transparency and communication. We hope that you find this information useful, please check back regularly!

Update: August 16

The reason why we have our 3-pull limits on the PTR encounters is that we don't want strategies to be perfected by the time release is out. The multiple tests of Plaguewing have not revealed any significant issues that deems it neccesary to have another round of testing on our end. Therefore, it is hereby officially announced that Plaguewing is a one-reset PTR. Guilds that have already been in there will not get a chance to do it again, while guilds that haven't yet been in there still have a chance to do so.

Issues that were detected so far have been noted and will be looked into before the final release. Thanks for the interest in the PTR. We'll see you on the next one!
