Druid Ferocious Bite + Clearcast

Are the current mechanics the way it should be working? As in when I have clearcasting buff on and use FB, I lose the buff as well as all the energy.

I don't really remember how it was on Vanilla retail 10 years ago, but it is a bit contradicting in my eyes.
 
So after I checked the bug reports, this is apparently the way it should work. The only thing that clearcasting does when FB is used, that you save the 35 energy you need to cast the spell, so you deal more damage since the spell converts the extra 35 energy into damage.

Next time I might as well check the reports first. :)
