Hello everybody,

in this topic I would like to give you an introduction (or give a little help to other druids) in "how to be a Flagcarrier".

I split up my topic into 6 points:

1. Stat priority
2. Equipment
3. Spec
4. secondary Items
5. Enchants
6. Helpful Tips

1. Stat priority

In this point, there is only one really important stat, it is stamina. If you are a flagcarrier with a huge life-pool, you will be a nightmare for everybody else.
But besides stamina, you still have to look on some other stats. Personally, you should reach a mana-pool between 3.8k-4k mana unbuffed (more is always better if your life doesnt suffer from it) and you should get like ~90-100 +Heal, so your Rejuvenation HoT ticks with like 250 (more is also better if your mana - and life-pool doesnt suffer from it).
The other stats are pretty much useless for us (spirit, strengh, agility).
But then there is armor. Armor is also a pretty nice stat, which we have to stack a little bit, if we play against melee cleaves.
After all, you can go like this:
Stamina > Intelligence > Armor > +Heal (no melee cleave)
Stamina > Armor > Intelligence > +Heal (melee cleave)

2. Equipment

As I mentioned in the Stat priority subpoint, get gear with a lot of stamina. But, the most important items you HAVE TO get, are those from the rank 8 set, because it gives you the badass speed increase (15%) in travel -, bear - and catform.
Now, I will give you an example in each equipment slot, that is pretty much best in slot there. The example implies you are in possession of rank 8. (only Kronos content (=MC/Ony/BWL/ZG)):

3. Spec

Nothing is better than Nature's Swiftness (NS) and Swiftmend. Your survivability is much higher with these 2 spells and you have to survive, of course.
But when I am feral, I can get 20% more stamina in bear form, so usually it should be better, because we want to have maximum stamina, right?
No! In WSG you have to count, that you WILL be left alone anytime and then you need the survivability from the restoration tree. As a feral, you may die.

Here is the spec, which I am using:

Also important is the feral charge. With this spell, you can escape from any difficult attack pretty well.
And Nature's Grasp with the reducing mana costs for shapeshifting, of course.

4. secondary Items

Well, there are some items, that are really useful for our playstyle.
Skull of Impending Doom:
https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=4984
Your speed gets increased by 60% and you get like a DoT, which breaks every CC on you.

Nifty Stopwatch:

Linken's Boomerang:
https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=11905

Of course when you are Engineering, you can craft yourself all the reflectors, rocket boots, gnomish net, mind control cap and rocket helmet.

5. Enchants

Try to get every enchant, that gives you +Health. If there isn't a stamina enchant on this equipment slot, you should get +int or armor.
Head:
+100 Hp (Constitution Libram) /
Zul'Gurub Class Enchant https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=19790
Neck: -
Shoulders:
The Zandalar Tribe Exalted https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=20078
Back:
+70 armor
Chest:
+100 Hp
Bracers:
+9 stamina
Hands:
+40 armor
Waist: -
Legs:
+100Hp (Constitution Libram) /
Zul'Gurub Class Enchant https://vanilla-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=19790
Feet:
+7 stamina
Weapon:
+22 int / 55 +heal

6. Helpful Tips

Well, you don't have to follow this, but it maybe helps you:
->It's better to stay outside than inside when you carry the flag
->Before you go in the horde or alliance flagroom, track the room with your cat tracking
->If you pick up the enemies flag, it is important that you get out of their flagroom as fast as possible, so we can get in our travel form (Skull of impending Doom, cat sprint, Stopwatch, rocket boots)
->Get abolish poison and barkskin buff before you pick up flag (rogues are really difficult to play against and mostly they defend)
->Faerie fire rogues
->Rank 1 moonfire hunters when they have their aspect up to get them dazed
->When a warrior attacks you and spamming hamstrings, you just have to cast travel form and instantly jump so you can get out of his range and easily get away from him.
->If you get any slows from range attacks (rank 1 Frostbolts or Concussive shot), you just have to jump in mid-air as soon as the slow will hit you and shapeshift the slow in mid-air. That gives you an one or two seconds advance (it is really effective)

Really important: play as a team. Abolish poison your team members from blinds or root melees who attack your healer.

All in all, you mostly cannot carry a flag alone. Good support is everything in warsong!

So, I hope I didn't forget that much and I could help you with this topic a little bit as playing a flagcarrier and I wish every druid who is trying it good luck. :)
I will edit this post, if anything is missing or I find anything important to mention, of course.

If you still have any questions, you can send me a message here.

Very nice starter guide!

I've seen alot of new druids on alliance the last couple of weeks.
Maybe they can learn one or two thing of this guide.

I think another good way to learn a few new tricks is to watch Burn's stream and see him live in action.

He's always glad to answer questions in chat.

Most common mistake I've seen so far, too less life. If you can't be bursted due to high stamina chance are a healer will come by and green you right up again.
Aim for as close to 5k life in tree person form as you can get.

+1 for the mid-air switching.
