Hi!

TL;DR
PvP Healing pally;
3/3 Shield Specialization or 3/5 Anticipation?

NTL;IDR
I'm going Healadin mainly for PvP healing, and was wondering if I should spec 3/3 Shield Specialization (30% increase to damage absorbed by blocking with a shield), or 3/5 Anticipation (Increase defense skill by 6).

AS a side note, here is the spec I've made up with my minimal knowledge of pre BC if you care to be bothered to look
(Taboo to flat out ask you to look i know :tongue:)

Also, if any experienced PvP Healadins did bother to look and have any critiques of the spec I chose or just any Healadin has some quick tips/things I should know about PvPing as a holy Pally I would appreciate the input! (All my experience as a holy pally came during WotLK hehe)

Thanks for the read!

(PS: I did read through the paladin forums already :p)

TL;DR Neither of the two, both are useless.

I'm not a fan of paladin builds that can't do anything by themselves and this is one of them. In my eyes, reckoning has much higher value than holy shock and 5% holy crit. You can also bring BoS to the raids by spending 1 point.

That gives you at least the ability to stun that pesky rogue behind you and unleash the fury. Even without a 2-hander, something like Aurastone Hammer can pack a punch. You enchant it with Fiery Weapon and activate Seal of Righteousness, after your Reck is ready stun the rogue and he suddenly finds himself at half HP or less. Twohanders can kill.

Thank you for your input! I really enjoy healing which is why I want to go all the way to HS, but being able to keep others alive consistently as well as holding my own in a fight sounds intriguing. I imagine I'll be testing out both specs in time. Ty again :)

Even when you are only healing the second stun you get through Repentance is very useful in PvP. So a 20/0/31 build might also be viable. Even though you mostly want to focus on supporting. A plus is that you are by no means defenseless should you encounter an enemy player alone. And sometimes it's very helpful to try to take out an enemy player too. So your playstyle can be more versatile. Your healing capabilities would not suffer much from it as this is mostly depenedent on gear anyway. Also Engineering is very helpful.
