Hunter Hunter dps in PvE - I'm willing to do whatever it takes

I heard Hunter dps in PvE is low, but I would really like to play one. I enjoy lvling them and I find them fun overall, but I also want a class that will be great in PvE - I don't want to be just a tranq-spammer.

So is there any way hunters can do great dps? I am willing to farm as much as it takes, do whatever is necessary, I just want to know if, in theory, there is a way for hunters to be a great raid dps. Maybe not necessarily top 5, but definitely in top 10.

Hunter dps never was low/bad, it s a misconception of bad players looking at bad players.
You cant beat warrior with simular skill under recklessness, nor Human rogues. In naxx and AQ you wont beat the mage who will grab the ignite, But you can approach them and bring decent dps.

In Vanilla retail i performed around 1k-1k2 dps on Patchwerk (with world buff of course.)

Currently some hunters on the server are performing 800dps for 2 mins on a single target.

And what is the situation concerning hunter bugs (mainly pet bugs, lol) ? Anything gamebreaking?

For now, there is one bug favoring us, the raptor are doing ~30% more damage than they should, otherwise everything is ok pve wise. I would say FD might be bugged as i dont recall failling it that much and humanoid slaying + monster slaying talent are bugged (the bonus on crits doesnt work).
