Possibility of a Kronos-wiki

I'm currently playing vanilla World of Warcraft, on that other realm, waiting for the release of Kronos. I usually reference http://db.valkyrie-wow.ru/, however, the fact that it is a Russian-based website, and that it's down about half of the time, doesn't make it very useful.

With the release of Kronos, wouldn't it be neato if we created our very own Kronos-based wiki?

With minimal coding knowledge (some HTML experience several years ago), how realistic would it be to set up a wiki? If I paid for the domain and hosting, would there be interest, would anyone be interested in helping?

Not sure if serious :)

Maybe I misunderstood what you mean, but Twinstar already has a database for all expansions.
The twinhead has a comment section just like wowhead.

Additionally their bugtracking system is directly integrated into it which is, in my opinion, the best solution possible.

I'm not sure if this would be necessary with the existence of http://db.vanillagaming.org/
sure its for a different server, but it seems to work

as for its downtime, I hadn't been there for months and just went there now, but when I was usually there it was almost never down when I needed it

Atm the Twinhead database is a bit out of sync with the server REAL tables. It will work on launch again of course.
Take twinhead since its the most accurate one and actually related to this server.

Sorry, been playing on feenix for too long, expecting staff to react is counter-intuitive for me now))))

It's not hard to add wowhead comments, but while this is not blizzard server, devs want community to add their impressions to the comments so it will be much more accurate.

In addition, comments on Wowhead are property of ZAM Network, meaning I'm not really sure if it would be legal to copy them ^^.

One thing that has been bothering me is how twinhead is missing the more comprehensive search options I frequently enjoyed on wowhead during TBC. Between this and the fact wowhead has comments which are (mostly) still valid, I find myself going to wowhead first then cross-referencing with twinhead's vanilla DB to make sure things are what I expect them to be.

A very good example is how spellcaster stats have been thrown into a grinder, reformed, ground into dust again, reformed once more over expansions, etc.

My memory of vanilla is not good enough to tell what stats an item originally had, offhand! Kinda wish wowhead retained item changes over xpacs and allowed you to search using this criteria.

I'm sure that once Kronos launches that comments will start to populate twinhead but the search issue will still persist until the devs sort that out.

Still not sure what you mean :p
There is a search function and its actually pretty good and straight forward.

There are comprehensive categories which is neat but I have no way to check on a finer level, say;
- Created by a profession
- Drops in...
- Spell damage and healing > 0
- Spell Healing > 0
- Stam > 0
etc.

Wowhead has these pop up under "Usable by" (which is another thing missing) and adds a new slot every time you give criteria.

You can see most of the good stuff is here, but...

Wowhead has those extra fields (ignoring stuff only relevant to TBC and later)

This will be very useful when we start playing , for me at least.Been away for 3-4 years now and I'm pretty rusty :D I'll have to remember some of the things. Used to know the amount of xp and gold that you were rewarded from a quest but that was a long time ago :D
