I believe that the server is currently on CEST (Central European Summer Time), which is UTC+2. USA East Coast is currently on EDT (Eastern Daylight Time), which is UTC-4, so the server is 6 hours ahead of you.
During the winter, the server is on CET and East Coast is on EST, but the difference of 6 hours is the same. The changeover is about a week apart, though, so there will be a period in the fall when the difference will only be 5 hours.
