I did this on my Druid and Mage some time ago, and I could have sworn I did it with like 5-6 people max. Now i am trying to complete it on my war.. I had an AQ40 tank with Tunderfury, 2 mages, 1 lock 2 rogues All AQ40 geared, and 3 healers (my druid BiS aq40 and two others in BWL gear) and we were wiping hard and only getting the boss down to like 80%.

HOW THE F is this possible was it buff for some ungodly amount? Is it bugged? WTF.

Any info on this?

I need to do this quest as well - from what I have found out, it need almost a full 40 man raid to complete. Gives the best NR class legs though so I gotta get it done to get all that super sweet soak going on~
