The Final Touches

I saw on many private servers (saw it even on Nostalrius), that mobs can teleport up and down vertically while moving, or something similar is that while falling, they are teleporting downwards bit by bit, instead of linear falling. Is it a general private server/emulator issue, or something specific?

Mobs really have no reason to fall and you won't experience that on Kronos. If you jump off a cliff while a mob has aggro on you, he will find a 'safe' way towards you, or if that's not possible he will evade and reset. No falling.

As for simple movement issues, there were only two I remember from the previous Kronos. The first was that sometimes a mob would get stuck while chasing you, especially when chasing around small terrain objects that blocked its path. When that happened, the mob began to calculate his path so furiously that your whole screen froze for ~20+ seconds, while the world continued on its own. And, depending on your surroundings, sometimes you found yourself dead after such freeze. The issue didn't even occur often and the last time I experienced it happenning was during early levels in Barrens. What I'm trying to say is, that it got fixed really quickly.

The second one was, that mobs were affraid of following you on some (rope) bridges. They acted as if the bridge wasn't there, as if you were standing on thin air, and therefore they just waited until you came back, or they evaded. If you need an example of where that would be a problem, think about Thousand needles, fighting those tauren that live up on those pillars. Some of those tauren even patrolled the bridges, because that's what they should be doing and you could see that it was causing them major problems. Those are the only mobs I've seen on Kronos that were "walking incorrectly". But, as with most things on Kronos, this has also been.

What i meant with my post is, that if you never played on pserver, then you may not know how they usualy look like, so you can get angry when you find, for example, desynchronized event or not correctly working escort quest. There are thousands of things that may slip testers/devs attention. Also, there are things, that happened on retail but wont happen on kronos (like 0.4s "action effect gaps") so your experience is not going to be the same, just very similar (at last, my was on last kronos).

all actions against certain character are not calculated inmidiately but after end of 0.4s gap. That mean, that if you heal your aly in 0.1s part of this gap, he will get healed after 0.3s. This was added on retail to help servers handle large amount of players and got removed with WoD expansion. On Kronos, it does not exist at all (everything gets effect as soon as possible).
Yet still, Chero have maded system that emulates this behavior for CCs for better vanilla feeling.

Ahh I remember. The good old "the heal landed but the target haven't received the heal". Loved it.

This was extremely bothersome on Rebirth...didn't happen all the time, but it did. Glad to hear its and well and fixed!

This allows for mutual stuns etc?

Certainly interesting that people with higher latency get a fair chance in pvp.

Reason #1 why I'm rerolling here, US players (west coast especially) are sub par versus EU players simply because of the ms differences.

Not to mention those lag spikes that I recently saw get fixed here (on the forums not in game), those are really game breaking since US recovers a little less fast from the spike.

So won't the spell delay be implemented? That's one of the advertised features of another overly hyped blizz-perfect server whose name I will not pronounce here. But really, I'm so shocked that Kronos won't have it that I made an account here ^^

@Adunai You know that this is just a crutch for poor server design and blizzard removed it for good reason.
When I hear the talk about spell delay I can just roll my eyes as some fail to see what it actually means.
Do you honestly want to play a game that feels less responsive and laggy? I misbelieve.

Besides, Chero is working on a compromise that takes the ~positive effects of spell delay (players can cc each other at the same time and what not) while still having the game feel responsive.

I've seen your name on other forums and also youtube channels and am well aware which server your supposed favorite is.

What I am shocked about is that fanboys of other projects have to come here to talk smack. Been there, done that, its getting old.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. If thats the case, enjoy your stay and have a good time on Kronos.

As Kronos popularity and forum activity increases so will the shilling. It's inevitable really

Those servers I support aren't direct Kronos' competitors as they emulate expansions, not vanilla period of WoW. The only real competitor is Emerald Dream, and I'm fully interested if Twinstar will manage to beat it in either quality or popularity.

ED is not hard to beat quality wise, the popularity will be a tough one.

I have never understood why does anyone consider this nonsense positive.

As Zed already said it can be quite funny and for some it's because they like the "old feeling" maybe.
I don't think it's a bad thing, since WoW isn't made to be competitive anyway and that would be the only reason why it would be bad.

I always considered pvp to be mainly about reactions/reaction time. Therefore, for me, only the player who casts his spell first should be the one that gets to have his CC succeed.
Also, whenever this thing happened to me, I was more angry than amused.

From what Aieris said, it's to help with the latency of the users...just because you believe you casted it first, doesn't mean you actually did. While I agree that reactions/reaction time is the most important thing, if you're playing in CZ and I'm playing in the U.S. and I press a button just before you do but you're closer to the server, yours is going to register first if there's no delay. I'd say that depending on where the person is playing is going to have a large impact on their view of this implementation.
