Hunter UPDATED list of hunter bugs

Here is a list of the known hunter bugs, easily giving hunter the #1 place of most bugged class in Kronos servers.

This list will be updated, so just add a comment (with the corresponding bug report) if you have found a new bug.
Making that list, I hope hunters will get some attention.





1# if you feign death while your pet is still alive, mobs will come back to kill you after they have killed your pet.

2# freezing trap duration is a joke. It lasts 6-9sec on average (the first one). You can barely escape melee, let alone cast aimed shot.

3#Pet is not following rogue who restealths (not vanish, just regular stealth), even tho there is clear evidence that it should. For some reason, a GM changed that bug from Confirmed to Won’t fix.

4#Pet’s resistance is NOT taken into consideration for the heartbeat mechanic (or there is no heartbeat mechanic at all). Thus, a pet with 200 arcane resistance will still be sheeped for 40sec (or 200 shadow resistance feared for 20sec, 200 nature resistance hibernated for 40sec, etc)

5#Pet is not subject to diminishing return. Sheep/fear/hibernate can be spammed on pet forever, for the same full duration. So not only pets can be cc'd for full duration, but also for an infinite amount of time.

6# Revive pet is subject to LOS, which is NOT blizzlike. Thus, if your pet dies in wsg balcony, and you jumped at some point, you will have to get up there again to rez him.

7#Scatter shot on moving target is fucked up. Sometimes, the target will blink in different directions, making trapping more difficult.

nice job, can confirm all of these bugs except #3 which im not sure if blizzlike and #9
 
I didnt do extensive testing on 9, but from my experience in the private server scene, its a common mangos bug. So if the devs never scripted it themselves, it might very well be bugged here aswell.
 
Would like to add that pet ability BITE won't autocast (Not blizzlike).

In order to force it to autocast, one has got to switch off the pet ability CLAW, allow BITE to autocast once, and then switch the autocast for pet ability claw once more.

One has to do this every time one logs in and every time the pet is re-ssumoned.

The number of hunter bugs are very disappointing.

I can confirm that, in the case of Hunter Bug #3, the pet behaviour described by the OP is Blizzlike.

If, while pursued by a pet, a Rogue stealthed then the pet would continue to chase the rogue and eventually unstealth him.

I have been playing WoW since the winter of 2005, and I am old enough to clearly remember Rogues whining about this specific pet behaviour on the original Blizzard Vanilla forums.

Would like to clarify here that the pet lost the Rogue being targetted only if the Rogue vanished. If the Rogue just stealthed without making use of the vanish ability, the pet did not lose the Rogue.

and other global bugs such as terrible pathing and the combat bug hit hunters double.
hunter is really not enjoyable on kronos, would always advise ppl to chose something else

All summons and pets (npc, mobs) are completely bugged on kronos. They don't change target, you can't taunt them or make more threat to aggro them etc.
 
Thanks for the list. I noticed #2 and #3 quite recently when some cheap shotter suddenly appeared behind my character. Trapping and trying to have pet follow him seemed like a waste of time.

Yes, I played a rogue from late vanilla, and I remember even during TBC wanting to send a very strongly worded letter to Blizzard because of this (along with another letter to the bastard who came up with dazed).
 
Testing #9 shouldn't be too difficult with the lowered respec costs. just find a bow with a small damage range (min vs max dmg), and ask a priest buddy for some some duels.

About #4 - aren't heartbeat resist and +resistance to spell schools very different mechanics?
