Zul’Gurub

zg.png

Long ago, nestled in the jungles of the Eastern Kingdoms, there thrived the kingdom of the Gurubashi trolls. But their existence was not without strife, as the Atal’ai priests sought to tear the capital of Zul’Gurub apart. The priests attempted to summon the wicked blood god Hakkar, but were defeated and exiled before the rites could be completed. They vowed one day they would return, and that day soon came. The city of Zul’Gurub had collapsed, and was reclaimed by Jindo. The evil Hexxer Jindo is once again seeking to summon Hakkar. Now, it is up to you to venture forth into these ancient ruins, rife with death and wicked voodoo. Join your companions in this exciting 20-man raid experience, and plunder the age old relics of the Gurubashi. Relive the dungeon as you remember it, with its intricate expanses of ancient architecture and open skies.

Public Test Realm

The Kronos team has spent countless hours scripting to bring you the most blizzlike Zul’Gurub experience possible. Now that all internal testing is complete, you will be able to enter the city of Zul’Gurub on our updated Public Test Realm. The PTR will be open for everybody from November 15th to the 22nd prior to which, player’s characters will be updated to their current state. This will allow each guild to participate in the boss encounters and help by reporting any issues before the official release. In order to get on to the Public Test Realm, you must log on to your account as normal and once you reach the character selection screen, click “Change Realm” button above the character’s selection panel and choose “Kronos PTR”.

Streaming & Reporting Issues

We are encouraging players to stream their test raids in order to track the issues which, otherwise, would be hard to explain or reproduce. Video footage of encountered issues would always be a good addition to your report. All issues should be forwarded to our development team on the Twinhead website. Be sure to read the manual on creating reports here but please bare in mind, you need to be logged on your forum account in order to create a report. While there will be GM assistance available on the PTR, services such as teleporting or free consumables will no longer be provided. For specific cases you can contact the team members in the #kronos-help IRC channel. Detailed information about connecting to IRC can be found on our support page.

Thank you all for your continued support, and enjoy your stay on Kronos!

So what's the status of the character copy? I'm hearing from some people that the character version that's on the PTR is like 3 months old. I didn't even have a character 3 months ago, and sure enough there's no character on my PTR account.

Database copy will take some time. Be patient. In my opiniot, it will be done today evening or tomorrow morning.

Then they shouldn't have said this so specifically. Sucks if any guilds actually planned to do test raids on Sunday or today.

Both PTR and ZG are open but characters are outdated. This means some players do not have chars or are not even 60 yet. Therefore it is kinda tricky to get a guild group going. I know Vanguard will try test it on Sunday if enough people show up.

Did anyone manage to try it out already? Maybe we should do a pug?

The problem with the current situation on the PTR is that older guilds are getting lots of free practice while newer guilds dont have an opportunity to try, which creates a very unbalanced PvE scene. If this is not fixed you will have one or a few guilds who will have practiced the encounters to perfection, while the other guilds see the content for the first time on release day.

Inc rage posts about it all being for purpose of testing and finding bugs and that after testing everyone should be struck with amnesia that makes them forget everything related to dungeon and boss mechanics and tactics.

On a serious note: We'd LOVE to spend 5 hours just testing and looking for bugs but having an issue finding 20 interested players whose chars actually exist or are 60 on PTR. Can we PLEASE get some official update on this? Is the PTR thing going to be extended or will it just be closed tomorrow without most people being able to test it?

pls man.. its ZG.. there is no progression race in 20 man content :)

What advantage? All BWL guilds out gear and can brute force the entire instance.

We ran it on Tuesday. Nothing hugely broken, just the usual every boss spams the shit out of all their abilities stuff that is common in this server. As well as an awesome stuck in combat bug after random trash so the raid has to alt f4 and reload to drop combat. Oh and entering the panther boss temple pulls every single mob inside because they aggro through the floor/walls.

Not sure if leatherworking/mining/herb stuff is working. Didn't get a single bat leather. Hoodoo piles mind control, we didn't get any dolls. If only there wasn't something limiting the sample size. If the BWL test is anything to go by any reported bugs won't be fixed and it will take bug reports after live release until they're fixed.

We didn't test edge of madness or fishing boss.

Its been more than 3 months of BWL and I still cant go in to make flasks solo, have to use mind soothe.

Every 5 minutes in ZG you are permanently stuck in combat. It's a lot of fun.

We appreciate the feedback by those who have been able to test the ptr and we're hopeful to have these issues worked out before the official release.

With respect to the character transfers, our devs ran into a roadblock which has currently prevented the characters from being transferred over.

Insidious hasn't tested ZG on the PTR so we can't confirm anything on boss encounters.

To add to Peasemold's reply, Mauserina and I (Bliepbliep) tested Jinxed Hoodoo Piles as 2 man. We can confirm that they do contain a Blood Scythe and their Dolls. For our attempts I always got mind controlled, not sure if it's 100% or 90% for example.
