I'm excited to start playing when the exp boost happens, but I'm stuck between Warrior and Rogue.

Summary:

- Never played Rogue properly with Sword/Combat specc, always tried ambush subtlety
- Tried Warrior multiple times on different servers, gave up multiple times
- Find LW/Skinning on Rogue easier than Warrior's Blacksmithing/Mining
- Isn't mining hard to level anyway because so many pick it?
- Tips on how to make money while leveling?
- I will go as a Human

I'm really just stuck at which one I would feel more cool playing. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#Lmhx0hbZVxzu0xZerzo specc to be able to level somewhat alright and tank if i need to.

I hope to just do leveling and PVE btw

I don't know what the message of your post is, exactly, but that spec you linked is garbage.
As a warrior - for leveling - you will want to rush MS or BT asap.

Leveling specs don't have 51 talent points spent.

Yeah I don't know what the fudge I was saying either lol sorry. I editted my original post, I think it'll be a lot clearer and better.

Uhhh but I don't think the specc I posted is all that bad. I got enrage, last stand and stance mastery.
It's mainly so I can get rend, the improved crit damage in arms, cruelty, etc

Yeah I guess I missed the point of leveling speccs. Hmmm, so can I go arms with MS and then go into Protection and get last stand (essential tanking stuff)? Also I'm not sure what to do with my Arms specc, I'm worried unless when doing Rogue sword specc, that I'll find another weapon that's better, making my weapon specialisation in Arms useless.

I guess I'm going to go Warrior, but I'm unsure on how to level and be a tank at the same time. http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#LV0bZVxZEizsx0zVo ?

Nothing in protection is essential.
Understanding the game mechanics is what matters above all else.
No amount of protection talents will make up for lack of experience. -> It's viable to tank any dungeon with 0 points in protection.

You shouldn't worry about having to respec your talents once you gain a significant weapon upgrade. The first respec costs 10 silver. 2nd is 50s, third is 1g, 1.5g... up to 5g.

Talent points only help you perform better with certain aspects of the game. Having Shield Slam or not will have questionable influence over your ability to hold multiple foes' aggro.

On the other hand, having impale is really good. It increases your abilities' critical strike damage. If you don't have good abilities to utilize impale with, it's worthless. Overpower is not good enough to make impale worthwhile above 40.

All talents have opportunity cost. Just because the talent spec you linked is decent in theory doesn't mean that it'll perform up to par with other talent builds.

I did level as 2H fury until I hit lv 40 and went for fury at that point. Putting points into arms to rush improved overpower is also good, as is dual wield fury. Leveling as protection... it's no wonder you gave up on warrior in the past.

My warrior is level 35 currently and has an Arms build: 21/5/0 (you could argue about Tactical Mastery but I really found it super useful especially when tanking). I did not put any points in Protection and tanking is really easy so far. When it gets problematic it's often stuff like Hunter pulling with Multi-shot or when the group is not focussing the targets I marked. And that has nothing to do with how you spend your talent points just with communication.

Questing is also pretty easy as long as you have decent gear. My damage is pretty good as long I have a weapon that is appropriate for my level. I just got Whirlwind Axe and had Corpsemaker before and did not have any difficulties so far, though you should not pull more than 2. Having health pots always helps a great deal too of course.

And if you are willing to tank and do a good job you will find groups very easily. When I log on people I did runs with before often ask me whether I want to tank again. I often don't even have to search for groups. So far playing Warrior is a lot of fun :D

EDIT

I heard that having Mortal Strike when you reach level 40 is actually better damage wise than the 5 % critical hit chance from Cruelty. So when I am level 40 I will use 31/0/0 and continue putting points in the Fury tree. Although I am not sure how I will proceed after I put the 5 points in Cruelty.

Wow, thank you very much for that :D I can't wait to play. Mmmm, I don't argue with the tactical mastery, but the 5/5? Well I only say that because I'm judging from what everyone says is the best, I was thinking 4/5 and then the extra point in 2h % damage.

Also I guess this means it's best to go with the axe specialization and just use axes after I specc into it, I was just worried on me picking up a sword at one level then finding a better axe/mace etc.

hi, these days im playing warrior and must say that i really want to waste some talents in protection tree - i know - but reason is simple: i started play warrior due to one reason: PVE. So i really enjoy tanking dungeons (for example RFK last night and night before as tank 27-28lvl).
But im 80% in 5mans, doing only class quests or chains to 5mans...

I want to say: you can pick some protect talents but is the same as leveling shaman with elemental talents or leveling warlock with destro talents...

I have no idea what it's like leveling as a Shaman with Elemental talents or a Warlock with Destruction talents xD

I mainly kept the 5 points in Tactical Mastery for tanking. I often just save up rage for the next encounter but have to change stances before to apply Hamstring for example. Not losing too much rage when changing stances makes it easier to save up rage for the next encounter. I found that really useful.
Also I change stances to use Overpower for example (Berserker > Dodge > Battle > Overpower > Berserker). Not losing that much rage in the process means that have more rage left to use for my other abilities. Later on I will have 4 points in two-handed specialisation anyway.

The weapon specialisation depends on your preference I guess. Swords often tend to be a little faster than Axes. Mace specialisation does nothing for your damage so I let that out. For Mortal Strike and Overpower slower weapons are better so I guess you will more likely stick with an axe.
On the other hand humans have +5 sword skill so if you are playing a human it might be good to take swords instead.
I don't know whether sword or axe spec makes a big difference damage wise if your skill level is the same. The 5 % chance for an extra attack (sword spec) sound nice though as both attacks have the chance to hit critical. Maybe the rage generation is better too as you have two hits. And the enemy has one more chance to dodge, which enables you to use Overpower. Sounds tempting to me.

I am very inexperienced as my warrior is only level 35, but I hope this helps you anyway and that my information is correct.

=) you need something to drink a lot...whole journey from 10 to 60. Its slow. Reason why shaman is good as enhancement while leveling etc.

im not sure if isnt better to put talents to piercing howl - after that you dont need to change stances... i dont use tactical mastery but maybe i play warrior wrong =) while tanking...

my setup now is: armory
next point ill put in piercing howl
after that comes scarlet monastery and than ill see

/whole run in 5man i stay in deff stance, no switching - im lazy =)

This is usually my leveling spec 31/20/0.

I start with using 1 hander and shield up to around 25. Using Wingblade when I get the quest and then Corpsemaker at 29. They do a ton of damage and the uptime with 1 hander and shield is way better than 2 hander at early levels.

Then I rather go full parry for some extra survivability and then crit chance with axes as they scale with impale giving them 1.2x dmg multiplier instead of 1x with sword spec. I usually go cruelty at first as they are basically 5% hit chance and that is so important when leveling as you often need to compensate for your misses.

And you usually have no troubles at all to tank until 60 anyway, except some rage gen but that usually go away at 35+.

Awww man Wingblade is horde only :(

2 dice roll, crit isn't hit. Cruelty will do nothing to your miss chance.

True but Crit chance is a multiplier. If you crit on an attack which is 100% increase in damage it is technically two attacks in one. Sure you still have RNG which could make a crit miss. I am not saying it is hit chance, I merely said that it was there to compensate for your misses.
