Battleground Queuing

Hi, new player, but played vanilla way back. I don't remember if there is a way to queue for BGs in major cities like Stormwind. Do I need to travel to the BG locations to queue or can I actually queue in the city.

No you can queue in all cities. In Stormwind it's near the King (not sure what location name is, Horde :wub:).
