I would also recommend checking out an addon called shaguquest. sorry i have no link.
Additionally, Vanillaguide addon is helpful for telling you what level you should be in each zone. i have no link for this either

I'm using questie and its a barrage of exclamation marks - even when im already on the quest - is this normal?

Is there any ui? or is it all slash commands to enable/disable
 
there is a way to modify the options of it but i've never used it myself so i'm not sure. my recommendation for it is based off of what others have told me so my knowledge is limited.
