Question How does name reservation work?

I've reserved a name for K3 - but how does the reservation work? Do I need to do anything in particular when creating the character, or will I simply be the only one who wont get the "That name is unavailable" error message upon creation?

Not assuming that this is going to be problematic or anything, but I'm curious and I haven't been able to find any extensive info on this - not in the twinstar megapost or on account manager.

The way I understand it nobody can make a character with the name you pre-purchased. It’s in the database under your account and would just bring up a “that name is already taken” prompt even if you haven’t yet made the actual character with that name, yet you would be able to make a character with that name.
