So much Nostalgia, even from the first second of the video.

Post more shit that takes you back.

I have the ingame music on all the time in wow. I know most ppl turn it off, but I absolutely love it. It makes each zone feel more alive, and almost all the songs are amazing.

I also keep it on. WoW's music is phenomenal.

Was there music for zones like MC? AQ?

Yes. MC didn't have any unique music, but the zone music fit pretty well in my opinion. Ahn'Qiraj and Naxxramas have their own unique music, with Naxxramas having some of the best in game music in WoW's entire 10+ year history imo.

This song +the sound of snow crunching under your feet... pure nostalgia! :crying:. One special memory comes to mind; I had managed to recruit a friend to WoW after talking about the game and sending him screenshots (he also brought his brother with him). I ran through Dun Morough's snowy landscape to greet them in Coldridge Valley and show off my dwarf paladin .

My issue with most of the World of Warcraft soundtracks posted on youtube is that they all lack the ambient sounds, which for me were just as important. I already noted how I actually had to download a WotLK client to recover the night time ambient music of the original Azshara sigh.
I did manage to dig up an alternative of sorts though: there's this chap on youtube who created a Warcraft Atlas, i.e. he traveled through each zone prior to the Cataclysm and recorded all landmarks and the sort; because he actually rides through every area, you can listen to most ambient sounds as well, though, of course, you will get either daytime or nighttime ambient sounds in most cases, not both.

That aside, do you gang remember the 2005 Rite of Passage? The absolute best take on Blackwing Lair.
Sadly, I can't find it in good quality, but here you go, it is still extremely good.
Blackwing Lair: Rite of Passage (Part 1)
Blackwing Lair: Rite of Passage (Part 2) (note the Forsaken mage at 0:30, it will so make you want to play one; also, that Thunderfury's trailing defiantly through the air right before Nefarian lands at 5:40 - would so want to main tank Nefarian, pity my very packed schedule is so unlikely to allow me to raid).

Hmm i guess i can upload my wow collectors soundtrack,
just for u little nerds :>

For me its not so much the ingame music as the addons kept most of that in place. What really takes me back is

Its the first track from Vurtnes first movies. I got so sad when I rewatched those 5y back and this song played.
Thats when I decided to find a vanilla wow server to play on. Took almost 1 more year till I found what I was looking for.

I'm not taken back. I've turned on the vanilla, tavern or custom ost soundtrack before I get in bed at least 5 days a week for yeeears :p
I have a playlist that is zone music in level-up order so I can play through the whole game in my head while falling asleep... which sounds crazy now that I "say" it.

Blizzard just nailed it with the music for the snow areas. It sounds so mysterious.

I'd say that's my favorite one. On the physical soundtrack it was one of the longest songs, so you actually had time to get into the groove so to speak.
