Ok so why wasnt there 20 WSG 2 month ago when AV didnt exist? Its because WSG is not fun and premades dodge so they only fight unorganized pugs.
Again lets look at the facts: Before AV release there was never more then 2 WSG games going at once. Once AV released we have 500 people PvPing at peak time. This is not because of AV being broken, it is because all these players had no way to get honor or rep in WSG.
WSG WILL NEVER HAVE 500 PLAYERS IN IT BECAUSE OF THE DESIGN OF THE BG, THE LOSING TEAM GET NOTHING <3 YOU ARE SERIOUSLY CLUELESS M8
^ Learn to read? LOL You could make WSG give 10k honor per flag cap and the solo players in AV still wouldnt join because they never get a flag cap against dodgemades.
You just keep on seeing red and missing what im writing lol.
AV had 500 players, one weekend. Then those players got their exalted items.
These days we have around 160 players doing AV during peaks. The reason they are doing AV is not to do PvP - they are doing it because its an easy way to get honor. The word you are looking for is not "honor", its "easy honor".
Same thing as there are not 160 people in Un'goro killing Lava Elementals to get Essence of Fire to sell and make gold. However if those mobs dropped 100 gold each, then you would see 500 players down there instantly farming gold untill they didnt need more of it.
We shouldnt be looking at "a lot of people are doing it" or "now everyone can do it". We should be looking at "What is healthy for the community?", "How was this thing supposed to work in Vanilla? How can we simulate that?".
There are currently many hot button topics in the vanilla community atm, especially around new servers that are released and how blizzlike they feel, not how blizzlike they are. A lot of it is revolved around PVE, people want devs to modify MC and BWL to make it a bit harder so that we can experience the same things we experienced in retail vanilla.
This is just another side of the same coin, the PVP-side.
It doesnt matter if a million players play AV atm if no players play WSG/AB. It doesnt matter if a million players think its better that everyone got a shot at r14 even if they solo queue.
It was never intended to be like this, nobody remembers it like this - and just because something satisfy the lowest common denominator - doesnt mean its good.
I dont want people to stop playing AV, i dont want solo queuers to feel like they are just there as premade fodder. But i dont want solo queuers to get r14 by being afk in AV, or ganking people on mounts in AV... or killing elite NPCs in AV. Because that ruins the entire fucking point of being r14.
Just as much as you have to join a hardcore raiding guild to get server firsts or clear naxx, you should have to join a premade to get the top ranks in PVP. Its as simple as that, not everything is for everyone - and that should be fine. Why dont you think it is?
The discussion the last week has been about one thing, and then that discussion has bred into a lot of small things... but they are still all connected to the one big thing:
People want a blizzlike experience, not for things to be blizzlike. If that means nerfing AV or disabling multiqueue or buffing MC bosses - it doesnt matter.
But one thing is for certain, as of right now PvP on K2 is in a fucking terrible state when compared to how it was in retail. We have no AB's going during the weeks, we have a few WSG's going which are mostly dominated by alliance premades because there are like 20 people interested in WSG and horde cant bother making a premade of their own.
What is the root of all these problems? This is gonna sound really lame, but its human greed. People want to get everything, do everything and achieve everything. And because of that they aim to take every shortcut they can when given the opportunity.
And right now, the way Battlegrounds are at K2... its very fucking easy to abuse the system to get amounts of honor that you should never be able to get. And for that reason a lot of people are farming honor.
That should not be ok. As i stated earlier
nobody remember PVPing in vanilla being like this, premade people dont, solo players dont, casuals dont and hardcore players dont. And for that reason we should tweak the system slightly to get a more blizzlike experience. Where premades and pugs can coexist, and getting high ranks is still an achievement.
Edit: Sorry for writing a book on the subject, but it just feels like you are missing the point exactly, so i wanted to sum up everything that has been going on the last week. And please look at this objectively, instead of looking at it like someone is trying to take something away from you. Because to be honest, it sounds like you just want to get a high rank... but you dont want to PVP and you dont want to put any work into getting that rank. You just want it, and by doing it this way you spit on anyone who has done it correctly before you.
