This is pretty much what's happening, everyone is leaving, even old rankers quitted, almost all players who got r14 quitted/sold their accounts.
It will keep going this way because NO ONE enjoy pvp atm.

The only people who are defending current system, are the same who are making people QUIT while they play 24/7 autist playstyle in ghost battlegrounds, then they'll quit after getting what they want.

You do realize that the people who got r14 and quit were once "autist playstyle ghost battlegrounds"-players. And they quit because they burn out from doing pvp to get their rank. If premades were not in the game they would have to play even more and would burn out even faster.... so no r14 players are not quitting because of premades.

Also, the reason most players are quitting is because they go to Legion or wait for new content.

And finally, the reason why K2 population isnt growing exponentially is because people are waiting for Blizzcon to see if Blizzard announces anything (will never happen) or if Nostalrius will re-open (will also not happen. There is also a certain hyped 1.12.1 server project supposedly going into beta soon and official launch in the beginning of 2017 - so a bunch of players are waiting for that.

I would estimate that only a fraction of players quit because of pvp. And most of the people who quit because of pvp simply do so because they thought it would be easier to rank, or because Salad Bakers are hoarding all the top bracket spots so nobody can get high ranks without paying them gold.

360k was br1 on horde last week.

But horde has 10min+ queue times on average and multiple premades running. Alliance has instant queues and one premade.
