What happened during the honor flush on the morning of October 28th?

Hello everyone o/

This is just me typing down some facts to help solve the mystery around what happened during this honor flush.

The situation: 8 Pages full of eligible standings, with the last page having 18 people total= 8*20+18= 178 Alliance eligible for standings.
For comparison, I'll use Quasar's old and updated RP. He is this weeks standing 1:

Before flush: 46,793 RP
After flush: 47,434 RP

The decay each weak is 20% of the current RP. I multiply the current RP by 80% to get the new RP before adding the RP rewarded from getting a standing.
Calculations: 46,793*0.8=37,434.4

After getting RP from standing 1, he climbed exactly 10,000. How did he only gain 10k?

Example Horo:
Before flush: 44341 RP
After flush: 44472 RP

44,341 RP*0.8= 35,472.8

Horo lost the correct amount from the decay: 8,868.2 RP, gained 9,000 RP from standing 2. I gained 131.8 RP.

Factual numbers, taken from the webiste:
http://armory.twinstar.cz/honor-ladder.xml?faction=0&realm=Kronos&sf=rp&sd=d

I did progress from Rank10: 86.82% to Rank10: 89.44%, which is 2.636% rank progress.

How is it possible to have Standing 1 only grant 10k RP, when 178 Alliance participated in pvp? The only clue that I have is that Nedstark (highest ranked alliance) is now rank 12 (+24.28%).

We had the problem before that people ended up in 1 bracket below. This was fixed by Chero for a regular week (>250 players). As it seems having <250 on each side in the standings will cause they same bug again.

Since <250 means you only get 12k max and the bug makes you move into 1 bracket below, he got 10k.
Right, wrong?

I don't believe that to be true considering the second bracket should be 12.000RP, which is St.2 bracket, and I didn't even get this much for this week. I believe some kind of miscalculation happened which destroyed the total RP. I really hope for a fix this week, as I don't want to lose 2 weeks because of that, and I really expect Chero to do the honor flush once again for this week.

Well I don't understand the system employed by this server. During the week of 14th. to 21st Oct., standing 2 (which was me at the time) got 12k RP, with 211 Alliance eligible for standings. Clearly the system isn't working. At that point, I determined that standing 1, 2 and 3 will gain 13k, 12k and 11k RP respectively, regardless of population.
Some clarification would be very helpful, since I planned to reach R14 on Dec. 23rd. and my gf will be very mad when I tell her that I need to PVP during Christmas.

I don't think they have any way to flush the honor again, but I'd like to make a suggestion not to ruin it for everyone as it is. We should set the decay for next week to 10% instead of 20% (only for the next week), this way everybody will catch up on what they lost this week and everybody will still have to play the same amount of weeks they had to before this flush (yes, I did the maths to check that 10% is correct to fix this and can demonstrate it with my own RPs).

Hey, I think there was something wrong with the decay this week. Pls check standing 14 on horde side, Pma was rank0 last week with 0%, he got 8000 RP this week so maybe the issue is up on the decay.

It was fun while it lasted, take care my ranking friends, I wish you the best of luck.

This is the differences on this update on Wed October 28

Ayz, for taking a screenshot of both factions before the flush, you may be the man who save the day (if GMs happen to actually read the forum), sir you are not the hero we deserve but the one we need.

We have received multiple tickets for this issue, there is no need to create further tickets. We are investigating.

We will get it back in tenfold from the sandgods of silithus, not like a week is a loss for anyone of you 5 healer stacking premade boys during work hours. That said, every standing and not just 1-4/5 should have a fixed Starting RP gain and then scaled upwards only. With temperatures going down but population rising the sub 250 issue should never be the case If anyone seriously wants to rank up outside of AV weekends.

That's not the issue. The point is not that we lose 1 or 2 weeks of grinding ranks (which sucks of course). We're talking about a gamebreaking issue which hasn't been addressed for 12 hours. This bug has harmed players in the past and is continuing to do so now. It simply sends a clear message to the player base, and I know many people - horde and alliance - are considering to simply quit playing altogether.

The problem actually is not about having to play longer to get R14, in fact it is something that can happen if you screw up one week. The problem is - in my opinion - that the staff seems to be really careless about problems on Kronos, and I am not saying that simply to be annoying or flame, I'm saying that because many issues that are extremely game breaking have been reported and the only answer we got was "we will investigate the issue" without any fix nor answer after a long period of time.

I believe - but maybe I am wrong - that many players start to think they don't matter for the staff and they are expendables, just like it was on E.D. apparently. I've honestly been believing that for a long time now (maybe 6 weeks) since the first time I've reported wagon bug in warsong and we still have no information about it so long after being reported.

My current position is to wait until the answer of the staff (or for a few days if it never happens) and if the staff decides to do nothing to fix this week's RPs or to give players any kind of compensation, then I will quit playing the game on Kronos, since I believe there is no future for a server where players are considered expendables.

I also think that daily bug fixing and answering tickets within an hour (on average) shows that staff doesn't care about Kronos players. The times when Gurky transferred items we mislooted (or couldn't loot) clearly demonstrates how little we mean to them.

Please don't bring ridiculous accusations here. Okay you're mad about losing RP. They said they are looking into it and will fix it. This isn't the type of issue such as "should we allow wagon exploit just because people say it's blizzlike or not", this is entirely different.

And yeah Horo, Kronos ranking system is a bit customized. Standing 2 should get only 11k RP even with 250 players playing. And below 250 no one should get 13/12k RP. I guess their adjustment to the lower population had some bugs in it which need to be addressed now.

There seems to be an error in the armory when it parses the data from live server. Here are some logs from the latest flush:

Hello Quasar.

First off, I would like to thank you for your ticket this morning. As this issue is a "new" issue for us this morning when I logged in and have not had the chance (at the time) to speak to Chero regarding this as we did not have enough information, I could not give you the answer you were looking for. I am sorry if you were not happy with my response that we are investigating, but when an issue is not "simple"and/or is not something that the GM level can look into it requires further investigation.

That being said, I'd like to address a few statements in this post that you made.

- Careless staff: We are a limited staff, and do this voluntary. As Chero has mentioned in a different thread (http://forum.twinstar.cz/showthread.php/101349-Speed-at-which-bugs-are-fixed-and-donations) bugs and issues have a priority list. This list is not going to be the same on each and every person as everyone has different views on how they see things. Getting a consensus is impossible, but we work very hard as a team to do what we believe is best for Kronos. What you see as game breaking may be more opinion than fact. Take for example the person who believes cross faction mounts is game breaking. Does this break the game? technically no, does it ruin their immersion? probably yes. Should immersion be considered game breaking? it depends on how you view it. Again, not everyone will always have the same outlook and this is likely a much "lesser" example but the point is that game breaking is very subjective. Sadly as GMs we only have so much ability and there are things that we can't do. So for things we can't do (usually programming/calculating oriented) that's where our dev team come in. These things can take time to fix, some issues longer to isolate and resolve then others. It would be great to have everything "game breaking" fixed quickly, but the reality is that some issues take longer than others.

- Playerbase: I can definitely tell you that you are 100% wrong. The player base IS what makes Kronos what it is. Without our community, there is no Kronos. There are a lot of servers out there, and servers come & go. Players can easily choose to go to those servers whenever they please. The people who choose Kronos as their "home" are imo a special kind of people (whether the troll spamming world or the noob tank who can't keep aggro in dungeons, to the skilled hunters who can solo dungeon bosses on their own). Everyone who is playing on Kronos is here because they chose to be here. I myself, am one of those players who chose to be here. I am just like you, I play actively on this server. I walk amongst you and do everything you do. I am a part of this community as much as you are. The same applies for all GMs. We all want nothing more than for Kronos to have amazing success, not just because we volunteers countless hours to help everyone's experience on Kronos to be the best it can be, but because we are also a part of this great community. Our dev don't spend the sheer amount of time and effort that they do just to throw out a mediocre project and have the server just become some random server. The amount of time and effort our entire team puts in as a whole is not there for Kronos to be mediocre, no one works harder than our team. So you can choose to believe that we believe players are expendable, but you are completely and absolutely wrong on all accounts. I am however sorry if you do feel that way. Kronos is a community, and Kronos is only as strong as it's community. We will continue to work hard at everything we as a team do to help make Kronos better in every way possible.

This must be a table from like 3 weeks back. I already was Rank 10 like 3 weeks ago.

In your table my Old RP last week was 39874 which means Rank 9.

Proof I already was Rank 10: http://imgur.com/a/VmaxZ + Check the screenshot from Ayz/Smoker

Ok, I'm not going to answer Ermean considering his contribution to this topic, though I'm going to point something that may help you Chero.

@Chero: When I look at your code there is something that doesn't look good at all since my old RP were not 44.292 since it is NOT rank 11 and every single ranker on Kronos can confirm I've been rank 11 for one entire week and almost a day now, which proves this code to be wrong. I believe at some point our total RP got messed up before the flush, you can even check my claim of being rank 11 the week before by looking at when I got the mounts of rank 11 and that I have no dishonorable kill, making it impossible for me to have loss total RP between the two flushes. I really hope this will help you solve the issue.

@Davros: Your post is mostly offtopic, but my current opinion is pretty simple. You are trying to make me believe that a bug abuse is an opinion and not a fact, now a lot of players reported the issue, and you know it. When I asked Gurky about it, he said he will make a post explaining the staff position on this matter: where is it? Show me. It has been several MONTHS since the staff should have adressed this issue, and we had NO information about it. You say I'm 100% wrong but the last time this issue about honor flush happened, affected players that spent DOZEN of hours investing in PvP for nothing got NO compensation, not even the slightest, showing great care about them. (No surprise why most those players quit a few weeks after by the way) If you want to continue this debate on private message, I'd be glad to, but I believe it will rot the topic and make it totally sink into the abyss if we keep it up here.

@Chero so you're saying that all the numbers that Ayz, Quasar, Me, etc., have been recording from the dedicated standings list for the past weeks/months - which coincidentally align perfectly with what happened ingame - are erroneous all of a sudden?
