How is our future?

I am actually very surprised so far. The occasional rollbacks are not nice indeed, but I do believe they will fix that soon. The community, at least to me, looks great so far. Population isn't the greatest in the morning (when I tend to play most) but it wasn't on retail either. So far, I am enjoying the server and I hope it continues to grow.

The NA playerbase could definitely use a boost. I'm having a hard time finding the motivation to level not knowing if there will even be enough people to have decent BG queue times or fill a raid :( The server itself is great, the only issue I've encountered so far is a warrior who's charge looked really wonky, but he may have just been lagging. We just need more people!

the other server and kronos being almost identical to comparison with bugs?? lol.

I take it you've not played on the other server, at least not for very long. Why are people so incredible hostile towards other servers? You don't have to hate one and like the other. Very silly approach in my eyes. Even if some people think the pop is low atm, at least it seems steady and not dropping. At least it's not been noticeable when I've been playing.

there is 454 online at ally side now, pretty much the same as the two previous days and it feels fine.

And could we stop with bandwagon lies about the other servers? If you played on that server, it's pretty clear that the pop is too big, and way bigger than any experience you had on vanilla back in the day. Which is not necessarily a good thing because there are people everywhere taking your mobs or ganking. It's pathetic to talk down others with lies to make yourself feel better. We don't need to, Kronos is good enough as it is.

I played on it till level 30, and I will say that there really is a big difference between the two servers. Run WC alone and you will notice a huge difference (I had no idea the oozes even multiplied, and they certainly don't on Nostalrius). The other server is good as well, it's unfortunately just not up to the same quality (this server also has major bugs the other doesn't...pets anyone?). It's kinda funny now to see the difference and remember the arguments that Kronos was rushing out the server without being ready.

As far as the population, I think that I would like it to be a little more populated during the evenings in US time. The one thing I really did like was seeing Alliance players running around and trying to fight some Horde players and I jumped in to help the Horde. Did I get to zones like STV where it would probably be a huge headache? No. But I remember talking to a friend while playing, I went till level 20 without seeing a single Alliance player on Kronos. It was a lot of fun to see them running around all over the place on Nostalrius.

Do I want the pop to be as big as over there? Of course not. 300-500 more US players during the evening would be great in my opinion, and that would boost the pop to easily over 1k at all times of the day.

I concur with that (not just because ur a guildy ;)) but agree that it would be nice to see around 1k or so online on all times. And I think that will come with time. The server is in quite good shape, and whenever a major bug or crash comes about, the devs are excellent at updating us the moment they can on the incident/problem at hand, and saying its going to be solved as well as when it is solved.

Granted, I have not played on the other server, but I think the performance will speak for itself come summer time as long as it keeps up. More people will come along and hopefully we can get about 3-4k constantly on the server. ideally, 1k players on both sides at all times of the day EU and US.

But wonderful job so far kronos, Loving the experience as well as seeing all these players leveling at the same time.

Kronos is going to see a massive population spike when the Summer months hit. That's a plain fact that should be kept in mind.

Will it hold that population? I'd be willing to wager that the most popular servers will see population spikes over the less popular servers like Kronos.

I'm really hoping there's a surge of NA players to Kronos.

Yes. I agree. Unfortunately there's another server that has taken the populous and what real reasons do they have to leave? on top of that new players seem to be preferring to play on the most popular server. People now a days (especially in the pserver community) imho are not patient and don't have the reasoning to roll on a less populated EU dominated server over a larger all around server (speaking from an NA perspective) unfortunately.

Edit: this reminds me of the rebirth vs ED situation we had a while back

One thing that would help would be more Youtube videos and streams of difficult content that's working here that isn't on other servers. Escort quests and scripted quests like Ghost-O-Plasm roundup in Desolace - that kind of thing.

Also, a lot of us were screaming for Showcase videos from the devs on instance running. We didn't get it, but the ball is in our court to get them made if we want to show them off to new players. My editing skills suck but I'll see what I can do about leveling up and getting into some instance runs and recording the whole thing, and then going back and speeding up all of the trash clearing but keeping boss fights and scripted events at normal speed.

Someone on horde side will have to do the work there though. I'm over here on Alliance.

You mean except for quality in every way? Having properly scripted raids instead of broken bosses that drop no loot? I'd say everyone that wants a serious vanilla experience should try out Kronos.

Apart from that I agree with your post.

I fully agree. The problem is that not everyone thinks that way and popular opinion is a very strong case. It's just being honest really, people will flock to where everyone else is playing due to being human. Unless Kronos starts advertising heavily for the NA market or the other server dies, I don't see Kronos becoming much bigger than it is now. I could be wrong...

I believe you are spot on here tbh, sadly I should add!

We are seeing 2k during the week and 3k on the weekend. We shall see what this weekends number will bring

There is no way we are going to get 3k this weekend. Launch is always attracting the most amount of people who likes to test the waters so to speak, but then they move on (or go back to the previous server). There is no doubt many people leave after the initial hype goes away. We are steady at around 1,5k and lets say 2k during better hours. If the server keeps improving and gets more stable, then we might see a slight increase in the future. But overall I think we will have a steady balance between incoming new players and outgoing players moving on in the future, which is what I hope for. The worst thing would be if people just kept leaving because server keeps crashing or they just cba to level anymore or whatever reason, and no new players join in because we dont advertise well enough. New people need to know why they should pick Kronos above that other server, because we have better scripts and quality.

Before release, in the midst of the hype people got to know about Kronos because we were all over the internetz advertising the server, and now its out there. Everyone who heard about it and got on the hypetrain already did join when it launched (which is why we had 15k log in attempts on release). After the initial storm people leave, then it all stabilizes, then that's it. So, slow and slight increase or slow and painfull decrease is the question..

The 15k login attempts was DDOS, not 15k players.

I don't think we should take it as doom and gloom because ED swayed from 500 at release to low hundreds up to 2k at its hay day so it is still accomplishable

i really hope you are right because im extreamly worried about the future of Kronos :(

Wait, what?

Server been out for a week and people are digging graves already? Seriously, you might not notice because you joined so late but Kronos devs & player are dedicated to the server. This, in time, will prove itself far more valuable than 500-1000 player more on that other server.

Seriously guys, just keep calm and play...

It's a shame for NA players that this is a EU heavy server. I don't think more than 2 or 3 NA guilds with 40 solid lvl 60 core raiders will be something we see for a while, if at all (Alliance side specifically)

Now just stop this nonsense :D just log in and play the game. Its awsome. This is what we have been waiting. :)

This thread rustles my jimmies. Before Nost launch 2k players was enough even for wotlk/cata. Now everyone is like "muh 6k players". Stfu pls and enjoy the game.

Omg 2k online so low, so small qq qq.
Blizz realms were capped at 2.5 for a reason, and before Botstarius release each vanilla realm with 2k online was called "awesome populated", but now every idiоt whimpers how 2k online is small.

To be fair, when it would be most NA guilds raid times the population drops to like 300 on each side which is what most of us aren't entirely happy about.
